Energy, Environment Research and Development Centre (EERDC) is a self-governed engineering society that specializes in lucid research for development of energy sector in Nepal.
EERDC prioritizes a multi-disciplinary approach to energy research with focus on environmental initiatives against climate change, all the while maintaining channels with general public for raising awareness through training and workshops. All the activities of this organization ultimately point towards carrying out engineering projects based on clean development mechanism as well as awareness activities for the synergistic end goal of a sustainable national development.
Mission
Vision
We are a part of Kathmandu University's long-standing tradition of producing quality engineers. We as individuals bring forward clear ideas from our own fields that we observe, analyse and put together into meaningful projects. Besides, our knowhow extends beyond our team as we are frequently in contact with experts working in various fields in Nepal today.
Product Development & labeling of clean cookstoves and standardized biomass fuels for nepali market
Further R&D, optimization of Jatropha pressure jet stove and guideline development for local level trans esterification mechanism
Further R&D, optimization & prototype development of Jatropha based sustainable cooking technology for rural Nepal by enabling environment for technology dissemination and commercial development
Assessment of climate change impacts on Helambu Sub-watershed
Village electrification with wind turbine and solar power system in Nepal's Upper Mustang Region
